Becoming Biomass, by RVTR (Geoffrey Thün and Kathy Velikov) and POST (Ersela Kripa and Stephen Mueller), was an invited project in the exhibition Regional Globalism in the Tennessee Valley at the Ewing Gallery, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, from November 4 to December 4, 2024.
The project envisions a cooperative-managed agroforestry and biomanufacturing transformation of the Tennessee Valley as part of a near-future U.S. decarbonization. Mappings, drawings, models and two silent films depict the actors in this transformation, from lignin and lands to infrastructures and a biorefinery.
